Happiness. Yes, we let our kids play with fire.

Picking organic strawberries- and eating as many as we picked.

Paring, cleaning and prepping for jam…

First batch done, working on the second batch… The kitchen smelled of summer and little kids and heat and happiness.
I can spot Mo’s hair from that berry picking shot! How fun for all of you!
Thanks for sharing.
Can you post your jam recipe? Please?!?!?!?! A little Hoosier family would thank you!
just barefoot- I just follow the recipe in the Ball pectin box- really. I made one batch full sugar, and one batch with low-sugar pectin. The full (7, yes 7, cups cane sugar) one jelled better, but the low (3 cups cane sugar) one tasted better.
…you put the lime in the coconut…
looks like fun!
Homemade jam is the BEST! What a wonderful weekend y’all had!
I love Hoosiers and homemade jam.
Fun & Yum!!!!
I’m hoping against hope that this year I can do jam just on stuff in my garden….
My fave is raspberries, and since the puppy ate half of our strawberry plants and only one raspberry, I will probably have to find some strawberries… LOL!
*sigh* i am sooo bummed to have missed this. the good news is that as SOON as the doctors say i can, i will be on a plane to visit. *sigh*
Good food, fireworks & friends. Now that’s a fine combo!
JS, I can’t believe you noticed my shirt from so far away! I *heart* you
thanks, Tracy! Your post definitely made me miss growing up in the NW (more specific: Puyallup).
Homemade jam – wow – talk about memories. You’ve never tasted jam until you’ve eaten homemade blackberry jam.
Bye; I’m headed to the kitchen to settle for a counterfeit fix.
That last comment was mine. I forgot Michelle was on this computer before me.
I wish I’d had the energy to create a weekend like that!
I miss jam. YOu convinced me. For the last few years (except last year) I have made it each summer and then given it away for teacher gifts….or VT gifts, etc.
I got lazy a did freezer jam last year… not the same….
