Mine was more of a Mother's day weekend. Friday Night we went as a family to see a Monster Truck show. That was awesome!! None of us had seen one before and it was just a lot of fun. Plus some great photos.

Saturday dd and I went Strawberry picking (we got a discount for mother's day even) and then to lunch together. Then that night dh and I went to see Iron Man with some other friends.

Sunday after church we watched a marathon of episodes of Stargate SG-1. For dinner my 2 sons fixed belgian waffles with Strawberries and whipped cream. (I learned to make sure there are things they know how to cook stocked in the kitchen so they can "surprise me" with something good).

I'm just glad we all enjoy spending time with one another :) That's the best present :)

Yes, my husband cooked that breakfast. And a dinner which was too detailed to mention. He is a fabulous cook when he does it! This was a wonderful Mother's Day, but also the first year I have ever been away from my family, so the extra attention was needed to take my mind off of things! We'll see how next year goes, but there will always be the memory (and the standard that he did to himself ;)) of this year!

Glad your day was awesome. Sometimes I envy you Catholics and your crazy church times to choose from!

I did NOTHING! Love the fact that being Catholic gives me about seven different Church services, including the Saturday night Mass I went to the night before. I woke up to the smell of an amazing potato, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and parmesan cheese scramble with poached eggs on top. Not long after my eyes opened, breakfast was delivered to me in bed at 10am! Flowers were delivered shortly after along with gifts and homemade cards. Then watched a movie with my hubby in bed while the chitlens played quietly downstairs. The boys went to the store to get what I had ordered for lunch and brought it to me in bed while we watched a movie together. The girls then came in and colored with me in bed. I took a nap for two hours, woke up and requested dinner to which my DH took off to the store to make exactly what I had requested and he served it to me IN BED! :) I honestly didn't leave my room all day and it was fabulous! The only thing that could have made it better is to have my Mom hanging out with me! But truly the best part of it is that when I finally emerged this morning, my house was spotless! What a great day :)

Oh, how I would have LOVED to skip church too. (SHHH! My husband is a Bishop and I'm not supposed to say stuff like that!) Seriously, sitting through Sacrament meeting with six kids and no hubby, combined with the ludicrus (sp?) idea that they would all BEHAIVE becuase it was Mother's Day made it that much more difficult.

However, I did get dinner, and dessert, cooked for me by my loving husband, and a nap, and my bedroom door guarded until I absolutly HAD to get out of bed to make it to 9:00am church.

They gave us See's chocolate after SM and chocolate covered strawberries in RS. I didn't hear a word of talks or lessons, because the baby monkey is staging a nursery-strike. But, mmm, chocolate.

Then that night we celebrated my 3rd's birthday. She wanted me to help her make some Rachael Ray Super-Garlic thing for her b-day dinner. It made our eyes water as we were serving it. It was yummy, intense, but yummy.

So better than average food, but otherwise a normal Sunday.

Well, I went to church, but the Primary had dads take our classes, so I didn't have to teach. It was really nice.

I slept all afternoon, and hubby made dinner and took the kids. It was nice too.

Plus, they gave us belgian chocolates instead of flowers.

Am I the only one whose husband made him dinner. :)
I agree, a day off church would make for a less stressful day, but maybe only if my husband and son still had to go, and dh had to do all the work to get ds ready!

For dinner we had, uh. . . whatever we could dig up cuz I didn't cook anything and NYDD didn't make anything either. At least he didn't expect me to make anything. I would have laughed and walked away.
