The same way the snow muffles sounds, it has muffled my senses. I can’t think in a straight line, and there is nothing clear going on in my noodle.
This week has been, so far, swallowed up by present-making, carpool, cleaning up after the Monkeys, and keeping them away from the presents that are accumulating under the tree.
Beanie is sitting on the couch, nursing a sippy-cup of Christmas Milk (eggnog in our house), with a purple bow in his hair. It actually looks pretty in his flaming red haystack. He is keeping company with a tinker toy robot he built this morning.
Abby is dancing in little circles as she watches the Little Einsteins zoom over Egypt.
Jeffrey is at school, but it’s only a half day. What is the point with those? I hate half days. We rush to get him to school, and them it’s time to pick them all up. Sheesh.
Mailed our Christmas cards yesterday, so if you are on the list, keep watch on your mailbox. It’s not my most inspired one ever, but I like it this year. I’ll post the picture later.
The bottom three feet of our tree is completely stripped of all ornaments. Nothing. Bare. I have a bowl full of the things Abby had picked off. We’ve lost about 18 ornaments so far to the dangers of hardwood floor. Who knew?
Christmas is in 13 days. Are you ready??

Some people might not be on your Christmas letter list, but SOME people might like to read it… I bet it’s funny… Maybe you could post a blog version? Some people might like that… But I’m not naming any names.

I think I will learn from you and other mothers and next Christmas, when I have an almost 1 yr old, only the top half of the tree will be decorated.

Glad you checked in! The snow is making my senses go wild with Christmas excitement. Sad it is sunny today and hoping it won’t melt everything before the new storm sets in. Half days are ridiculous

Ready for Christmas? Um, no. Not ready at all. Just ordered my cards, hopefully I will get them before I go out of town for Christmas.
Also, half days are evil. Seriously. Sometimes in K I would just skip them, because the kinder day was only a few hours anyway, and half that is just not worth my time.

I think being “ready” is over-rated.
I’ve been using your excuse for not picking up after Sir O a zillion times a day and I love it!
I can pick it up a zillion times, or I can pick it up once.
Unfortunately the slackerness is seeping into my other housekeeping skills. The kitchen is in a sad sad state, and I can’t blame that on Sir O.

I thought all the breakable ornaments were out of Becca’s reach, and this morning, discovered differently. Oh, the delightful sound of shattering glass on a hardwood floor…
Ready for Christmas? Em and hsf are kindred spirits.

I liked your card this year. The line that I liked best? “Our new address is on the envelope you just threw away” Ha! Classic!
